The Geological Reenactment in My Home

Around 250 million BC, the largest volcanic eruption in known history occured at a place called the Siberian Traps.  This eruption , which lasted for over a million years, is estimated to have cover up to 7 million square kilometers with basaltic lava.  The Permian-Triassic extinction event, the largest in Earth’s history, is believed to have been directly or indirectly caused by this eruption.

So why am I writing about this?  Because if you substituted reeking feces for basaltic lava, my sons ass and crib for the Siberian Traps and the largest violation of my olfactory nerves for largest extinction event, you’d have a pretty accurate description of what I dealt with earlier today.  You’d have to shorten the time scale a bit too.  Just thought you’d like to know.
